    Advanced Users #

Kiosk single-app mode is a feature in Windows that allows you to configure a device to run only a single application, such as the MissionaryConnect.app, in full-screen mode. When the device is in kiosk mode, users are prevented from accessing the desktop or other applications, providing a locked-down environment that is ideal for public or shared devices.

    Configuration #

To configure the device to run the MissionaryConnect in kiosk mode, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Open the Group Policy Editor by typing “gpedit.msc” in the search box and pressing Enter.
    2. Navigate to “Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Assigned Access.”
    3. Enable the “Configure assigned access” policy and select the Miscrosoft Edge as the single application to run.
    4. Choose the account that will be used to run the kiosk mode and configure the auto-logon feature to automatically log in to the selected account when the device starts up.
    5. Save the changes and reboot the device.

Once the device is configured for kiosk mode, it will start up and automatically launch the MissionaryConnect app in full-screen mode, without any other user interface elements or desktop access. The user will only have access to MissionaryConnect and will not be able to exit or close the application.

Kiosk mode is an effective way to create a simple and secure computing environment for specific use cases, such as information kiosks or public displays. The MissionaryConnect App can benefit from kiosk mode by ensuring that the app is the only program that users can access on the device, providing a consistent and streamlined user experience.

    Remote Access Disclaimer #

In order to use Kisok mode remotely, Windows notes that User Access Control must be turned on to enable kiosk.

By using AnyDesk Remote Software provided by Digital Misisons Display, this restriction is overridden as AnyDesk allows Ctrl + Alt + Del command which allows the remote user to switch between kiosk mode and admin user mode. Another great reason to allow Digital Missions Display to curate your missionary data.

    Microsoft Account Users #

We do not recommend setting up your using Microsoft Accounts to create users. Only Local Account Users should be activated.
